This is a fun lil’ comic by Andrew Neal that takes place at a single house show in 1996. Val, our protagonist, is about to go on with her band Titty Blüd, when one of her housemates declares that some at the show has stolen their collective rent money. Val takes it upon herself to interrogate each of her eccentric housemates to find out who took it. Through the evening investigation she finds out all the people she lives with are in love with her. Damn, Val. It’s a quick punk romance/mystery. The comic is funny and nicely drawn. Andrew Neal’s character designs look cute-as-a-button and the grey tone marker (possibly brush) work looks great. And there is a two-page spread with the most tasteful drawing of a penis I have ever seen. Meeting Comics is a long-running series about Val and a cast of goofs working in an office building. This stand-alone flashback story is the only one I have read, but I plan on picking up more. –Rick V. (Andrew Neal, 519 Lakeshore Dr., Hillsborough, NC 27278)
