The practice of meditation meets the format of gag comics with this mini-zine. One panel per page, the author pokes fun at themselves meditating with an impish character ever present to disrupt their process—which is in itself, part of the process of meditating. Thoughts on death and what happens after, how to make your mind a blank page (with a blank page inserted in the zine as well), and meditation alone versus with other practitioners. Funny enough, I meditated earlier today and had a disruptive thought of, “I really need to write my Razorcake reviews…” so receiving this zine seemed meant to be. Content warning: this issue has a brief mention of suicide, so be aware if you pick up this issue. –Tricia Ramos (Meditation Funnies, PO Box 200394, Denver, CO 80220, [email protected])
