I Googled this band during the first song, figuring that if they wore cardigans I’d call this indie pop, and if they wore leather jackets I’d call it power pop. By the time I found a pic, I was won over and didn’t give a shit about pigeonholing them. Lutheran Heat play garagey pop with clean guitars, and a triumphant wistfulness that scans as punk. They’re from the Twin Cities. A man and a woman split the vocal duties. This album’s got twelve top-notch songs and a rad photo of a sky-high boombox sculpture on the cover. It’ll speak to your heart if you’ve ever had a crush on someone with a hole in their Chucks. –Chris Terry (pinatarecords.blogspot.com)
