The old, jaded bastard in me immediately wonders if the title refers to the fact that there was already a band called Lawnmower Deth nearly three decades ago. It is highly unlikely that the band knows the old band despite having released a cassette in the twenty-first century that is packaged like a cassingle. Trippy to see a band choose to use the term “alternative country” to describe what they do; it is a strange term and has aged poorly. This is mid-tempo, well played and performed rootsy music with the type of instrumentation one might expect. Too slick to be “folk punk” but people who daydream about riding the rails would probably go for this. –Mike Frame (Self-released, lmdr.bandcamp.com)
