LAVENDER HEX: Bunch of Flowers: LP

Sep 16, 2021

Though technically a two-piece from Berlin, Lavender Hex brings together the inspirations, contributions, and incantations of a whole range of folks from around the world. The first few tracks lean heavily into the found-sound genre, with lo-fi collections of sounds and experiences. But then, songs like “Scratch the Surface” bring in a more melodic quality that gives the record texture and form. It’s experimental without being chaotic, which is something a little different I think. In general, I would say that this reads as Art with a capital “A.” It’s surprising and varied with a great sense of tension and drama. Definitely some weirdo shit. –Theresa W. (Self-released)
