KISSED BY AN ANIMAL: Self-titled: LP

Jan 26, 2021

There’s a kind of high-powered twee thing going on in Kissed By An Animal’s songs, or maybe it’s just hazy rock power combined with light-touch lyrics. You could call them a less murky Dinosaur Jr, though Dima Drjuchin and Co. are really making their own path, tunneling back in time to some cozy, ideal psych-pop memory while floating out into the present-day clouds. A good addition to the “cosmic, woodsy” album tradition. –Matt Werts (Handstand, handstandrecords.com)
