Four tracks of greatness from this former Cramps/Gun Club guitarist’s latest venture. Fans of his previous bands will find much in the guitars here that is familiar, especially when they go into freak-out mode, but it’s laid over some solid ’60s soul architecture, allowing for much more swing in the rhythms. Best track is “He Walked In,” a fourteen-minute jam that easily would’ve fit in War’s early repertoire. Funky, groovy, beautiful. –Jimmy Alvarado (In The Red)
