Unless “Chuck” is slang for some kinda rad new Swedish party drug, I’m not seeing much in the way of Chuck-specific storylines throughout these six songs, but I suppose I’ll live through this vicious bait-and-switch. In general, this record seems a bit like some electro-punk album like Pete Shelley’s “Homosapien” getting manhandled by a bunch of stoned hipster punk kids: “All-Nighter” is blatantly a dance song, but “On Bail” is indisputably punky. A few of the other tracks seem reminiscent of what the Sleaford Mods might have sounded like before the singer’s voice changed. They definitely sound like they know what they want, sonically, and know how to get it; I’m not so sure what they want (EDM? Punk? Hah?), but I’m old and nobody cares. BEST SONG: “On Bail.” BEST SONG TITLE: “Stranded,” because it’s just interesting to see that word without “(I’m)” in front of it. FANTASTIC AMAZING TRIVIA FACT: This record has identical labels on both sides. –Rev. Nørb (Push My Buttons, pushmybuttons.bandcamp.com)
