KAIT ELDRIDGE: The Dark Tower: LP

Mar 15, 2022

I was all in on this upon reading one sentence about it. “Kait Eldridge of Big Eyes releasing an album of songs inspired by Stephen King’s Dark Tower series.” Done. Sold. I knew this was going to be fantastic, but I was not prepared for just how much I would love it. Immediately there is a departure from what I would normally expect from Big Eyes. Huge guitar hooks are replaced by synth-based mood pieces better suited to invoke the feeling of the Master of Horror’s expansive fantasy series. At times reminiscent of Alex Cuervo’s work in Espectrostatic and Eerie Family, but always undeniably Kait. It is a beautifully lonely journey. It makes me want to read the books again. –Ty Stranglehold (Let’s Pretend)
