Inept was a crusty hardcore band in Raleigh, N.C. in 1994 and 1995. Regurgistate was active for a few years in the late ‘90s. The Inept side covers a lot of bases, from peace punk-influenced political tracks to Spazz-y, frantic fastcore songs. The occasional use of female vocals is a welcome variation. The Regurgistate side is decidedly doomier, featuring strangled vocals and the slow, dramatic style of hardcore that made bands like Catharsis what they were. The cassette is a cool artifact for North Carolinian political punkers, and perhaps of interest for historians of American hardcore. –Lyle (Yage)
