This is the last issue of a zine by prisoners, published on the eve of the editor getting out on parole after eleven and a half years. It features movie reviews, drawings, a “scumbag informant of the month” feature, and a longer piece about criminal justice reform and how people can get involved by doing things like running for the board of their local prison or at least paying attention to who gets voted onto the board. The most interesting piece is a “Prisoner of the Month” feature on someone who took legal action against their prison’s arcane mail policies and won. I’ve have enough correspondence with prisoners over the years to know that these policies are intense and often mean prisoners missing out on harmless mail, so it’s cool to see that the system can be successfully fought on that front. –Emma Alice Johnson
