IB 64, A ZINE FOR PRISONERS #7, free, 3½” x 8½”, copied, 8 pgs.

Mar 10, 2023

The good folks over at IB 64 are still at it, thankfully. As before, this zine functions as a sort of newsletter from people incarcerated within the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections system. It’s got a great balance of real information about various elements of life inside and a sense of humor. Includes art from prisoners, a movie guide (and review), “Scumbag Informant of the Month,” “Prisoner(s) of the Month,” legal updates, and answers to questions from readers. I’m impressed by the consistency and variety here. Also as before, contact information for individual contributors is within, but please write to the first address listed at the end of this review exactly as it’s listed for general inquiries regarding the zine. To send a zine (bound materials are processed differently), use the second address. These must be sent separately due to the Department of Corrections making things overly complicated and isolating, as always. –jimmy cooper (for letters/inquiries) Smart Communication/PADOC, Charles Picarella #MZ7013, PO Box 33028, St. Petersburg, FL 33733 / (for zines/“bound materials”) Security Processing Center Charles Picarella #MZ7013, 26 Bricker Rd., Bellefonte PA 16823-1667)
