The first song on this new tape from Highway Stacy (the moniker of Tyler Shults, who previously spent time in Occult Detective Club and a few other bands) is its seemingly most “accessible” moment with a pretty great Flipper-esque post-punk rambler. From there, the program continues with bass-driven tunes with a definite no wave influence. Sometimes the vocals get too “throaty hardcore” for my liking, but overall this has some pretty great moments. –Mark Twistworthy (highwaystacy.bandcamp.com)
