Her Head’s On Fire is an indie supergroup featuring members of Small Brown Bike, The Bomb, Saves The Day, and Garrison. The ten songs on here are firmly planted in the ’90s and early ’00s indie rock and punk scene. I’ve always loved Joe Grillo’s vocals when he sang with Garrison, so from the start this project had my interest. I can hear aspects of each member’s former acts, especially in the guitar sound. However, a recent conversation with fellow Razorcake writer Michael T. Fournier opened my ears to the Samiam influence on College Rock and Clove Cigarettes. Now that he mentioned that I can’t really un-hear it, but I’m certainly not going to complain as I always enjoy some Samiam. A solid debut and despite the dumb band and album names (that’s something that really smacks of a throwback to the ’90s and ’00s), I’ll give this a thumbs up. –Kurt Morris (iodinerecords.com)
