You could tell me that this record came out in 1997 and I would definitely believe you, and I mean that in a good way. It’s like if Gwen Stefani joined a shoegaze/grunge band (I also mean that in a good way). The lyrics are political, feminist, introspective, and seemingly, deeply personal. Although different in sound, this record feels in line with Patti Smith’s Horses, Garbage, and Breeders. –Emily T. (Handstand)
