HoZac pulls yet another ace card from under their hat and delivers a doozy of a heretofore unreleased “Budget Rock” gem. Story goes they tracked down the singer of this obscure ’90s band that managed to release a few notable splits/singles before disappearing, found she was sitting on an LP’s worth of tunes and, thus, this record. The sound here is, indeed, “budget,” but not in the shit-fi, unlistenable sense. The tunes themselves are fuggin’ aces, falling more on the late-’70s Midwestern “punk” side of the garage rock spectrum (odd cuz they’re from the Pacific Northwest), right down to a choice cover of the Victims’ “Television Addict.” –Jimmy Alvarado (HoZac, hozacrecords.com)
