GOOD TIME NOISE + THE GOOD TIME BOYS: Good Time Noise: CD

Nov 20, 2023

First off, I’m impressed by the production of this record. Sometimes things can sound too slick or overworked; this carries each instrument strongly through the mix and doesn’t come off overworked. There’s still a rough quality and grittiness to it. Vocals remind me of Damian from Fucked Up. They’re loud as fuck with a gruff passion behind them. I’d hesitate to classify them as a hardcore band, thought they’re real close. There are these sharp leads and solos that pull them closer to rock, plus the drums are steadfastly rooted in punk. And then there’s the song “Good Time Noise” that heads into a World/Inferno Friendship Society vibe complete with piano. It’s a nice change of pace that works really well. Solid record. –Kayla Greet (Self-released)
