GOOD RIDDANCE: Thoughts and Prayers: CD

I’ll admit it—as the country falls deeper and deeper into xenophobia and divisiveness, as a heartbreakingly large portion of the nation decides that it’s actually pretty okay with creeping authoritarianism after all, it’s refreshing to hear a band of my peers—a band from my youth, truly—put out another “political punk” album. Better yet, they did it without embarrassing themselves or tossing out something half-realized. Thoughts and Prayers fits entirely within the scope of the band’s previous outings—there are no great surprises here—but that works in their favor. It’s topical, it’s familiar, it’s well done. It’s fast, melodic, smartly produced skatepunk stuff. You know what you’re getting into. –Keith Rosson (Fat, Fatwreck.com)
