As Sean Koepenick noted in his review of the Fundamentalists’ Leave It as Is in RZC #121, “this is literally not music.” Thank you, Sean, for such deft and wholly apt commentary with which I concur and mostly apply to this effort: on this release there are, in fact, some rhythmic qualities, but it’s like overfuzzed bongos joining forces with a ball-peen hammer whacking a trailer hitch. It’s okay for what it is, I suppose, but it sounds better suited to be the ambient soundtrack of a performance art piece that a sophomore fine arts major might concoct. –The Lord Kveldulfr (Walls Flowing)
