On their second album, Toledo Ohio’s Frente Norte barrel through eight songs of classic punk, drawing inspiration from a bevy of sources such as French oi, outlaw country, and that trusty ol’ combat rock. The lyrics, all in Spanish, heavily focus on feelings of despair, loneliness, loss, anarchist leaning politics, and disdain for even one’s own family. Everything is out on the table and feels just as earnest as the music. This is a great fucking punk record that will fly under most people’s radar, so here’s your first warning. –Juan Espinosa (Self-released, frentenorte.bandcamp.com)
