EXTROVERTS: Government Girls: 7”

Nov 29, 2016

Sometimes life gets in the way and you have to wait thirty-five years between the release of your debut 7” and your follow-up single. If you are Regina, Saskatchewan’s Extroverts you just take it in stride and keep putting out snotty punk rock heat blasts like nothing ever happened. I saw these original Canuck punks (started in 1979) play a basement show recently with the kind of vigor that you rarely see out of a band of twenty-five year olds. It was amazing, as is this two-song ripper that melds unused lyrics from the late ‘70s/early ‘80s with newly written riffs. This, along with their new CD, has got me having high hopes for my quickly approaching senior years. –Ty Stranglehold (Self-released, theextroverts.com)
