Fast thrashy hardcore (or “fastcore,” as someone rebranded it fifteen years ago) that skirts powerviolence at times: screaming-from-the-top-of-the-lungs vocals over a foundation of verse-chorus-verse compositions that range in speeds from breakneck to some short moments of mid tempos. At times, the vocals drown out the tunefulness of the music, which is a detriment to the band and obscures some of their more interesting qualities. If this had come out in 2001, it would have been on 625, and they would have sold out the Smell in downtown Los Angeles. –Matt Average (Thrash Unreal, [email protected])
