The rootsy, Americana rock on Water Valley High feels very lived-in, and would probably sound great on a Friday night, beer in hand. Eleganza! occasionally hit on a kind of Stones swagger (“Down with Me”), or a kind of lost weekend weariness. They also veer towards ’90s folky alt-rock, and can get too settled in conventional song forms.
