DUIS, THE: Nightcap: 7”

Sep 23, 2016

Oi is a deceptively simple art form. Some people remember it fondly from their childhoods often to discover some of the titular bands were weak when you sober up. This is a pretty solid sounding oi-esque effort. The singer has the raspy charisma of Anti-Heroes and the riffs are fast and unchained. “I Always Said” is anthemically in the pocket. I haven’t seen an actual skinhead in a while, but I’d assume that’s what’s happening here. The record is from Milwaukee. I think that’s where all the beer is still kept. There’s no picture to confirm what they’re going for, but if you’re a fan of oi or street punk, this is a solid record. –Billups Allen (Self-released)
