Alright, let’s get you caught up: Double Fisted are Bill and Roger from Grissle. I reviewed some of their previous releases in issues 119 and 110. They describe their sound as “whatever they want”—a sound that ranges from skate rock, to surf, punk’n’roll, and beyond. The sheer variety of sounds on every release impresses me every time, and it’s all damn catchy. The combination of great tunes and lyrics that all tell miniature stories make for an almost movie soundtrack experience when listening to any of their releases, and 1979 is no exception. The title track in particular tells the story of a motorcycle ride gone very wrong and its aftermath. Double Fisted have become one of my favorite bands of the year, and this new release only reaffirms that position. –Paul J. Comeau (Records With Attitude,
