DOGHOUSE: Never Cry Wolf: CD

Nearly twenty years after forming, Serbia’s Doghouse return with their first release since 2015’s Dysfunction EP. A gleamingly over-polished recording didn’t do much to endear me to the band. Other than the vaguely left-leaning political lyrics in their own songs, the most interesting thing on Never Cry Wolf was Doghouse’s cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “I’m on Fire.” I can’t say I’m into Springsteen, never mind covers of his material, but other than the cover, there wasn’t much remarkable about Never Cry Wolf to make Doghouse stand out from the crowd. –Paul J.
