DIVINE DIRT: From the Underworld: CD

Sounds on the first song that immediately feel super prog rock give me a bit of hesitation upon first listen. But then we are back in the punk realm with the second song that emits a Dead Kennedys vibe. The California vibe is strong here, even though the band is based in Oregon. But since it was recorded in the City of Angels, there are guest spots from Paul Roessler, Casey Royer and Rikk Agnew. “Howling at the Moon” reminds me of the Stooges in a cool way. The lyrics of “Thieves Dressed as Kings” are pure Spinal Tap. But I’m still willing to give these dudes a fair shake anyway. Solid. –Sean Koepenick (Self-released, [email protected])
