Not sure if it’s the same on the LP version but on the spine of the CD case it says “Diaz Brothers aka H.D.Q.,” and that is essentially what this band is with the obvious exception of the absence of Dickie Hammond (RIP). Neil Cox, formerly of Shutdown, is added on guitar and everything does sound just like H.D.Q. I saw Diaz Brothers support Moving Targets almost two years ago. I knew anything they would record would be enjoyable, and it is. Dave Golledge’s vocals remain unique, and the band still packs a punch nailing the delivery of his emotional lyrics, underpinned by strong, melodic hardcore with ease. The production creates a solid, clear sound that really helps elevate this to being an excellent album. –Rich Cocksedge (Boss Tuneage, [email protected], bosstuneage.bigcartel.com)
