I started listened to the A-side of this record and heard a lot of early L.A. death rock influences; nothing striking or new. The following day I flipped to the B-side and was surprised by how unique these guys were. Maybe my ears were in a different place but I noticed the songs were really fleshed out—sure they’re full of chorus-y guitars and creepy vocals—but the songs carry well, more rock’n’roll.
