Anyone who has been paying attention to Voodoo Rhythm Records for the past couple of decades will know that the label specializes in weirdness—often blown-out bluesy skronk or other avant garde but still rockin’ sounds. If you do not know the label, the best description might be weird, post-Tom Waits insanity that comes from blues, exotica, blown-out garage punk, or anything else that might be “weird” to a straight-forward punk fan. This CD from Japanese artist Degurutieni certainly fits the bill, sounding very much like weirdo exotica from a futuristic film noir soundtrack.
