Deb Frazin Photo—Ty Segall

Deb Frazin Photo Column—Ty Segall

Oct 10, 2021

This photo was snapped on night three of Ty Segall’s four-night stint at The Teragram Ballroom. It was one of the best Ty Segall shows I’ve ever seen (right up there with the night he played Reverse Shark Attack in its entirety at The Echoplex). I wouldn’t be surprised if there were smoldering scorch marks on the walls after the venue cleared out.

Ty Segall can do no wrong in my book. I’ve loved his music since he was a teenager in The Epsilons with Charlie Moonheart (yeah, he was “Charlie Moonheart” back then). I love just about everything they’ve recorded together (and apart). My head was still reeling from the amazing Osees show at Non Plus Ultra a couple of weeks ago, so this Ty Segall show was just like throwing a hundred gallons of gasoline on a raging fire!

As an added bonus, not only did we get four stellar sold-out shows, Ty also surprised everyone by releasing an impressive new album called Harmonizer—his first studio album in two years!
