Burger Records came up with a brilliant idea: they recruited over 140 artists to write brand-new songs inspired by the Covid-19 quarantine. Quarantunes—Songs From Self-Isolation is a seven-volume digital release series featuring songs written and recorded within a three-week span after isolation started.

Burger Records generously covered all the recording costs ensued during the process, and all proceeds from sales go directly to the artists. Family taking care of each other during hard times—that’s what our music scene has always been about.

There are so many great bands on these comps: Die Group, Cheap Tissue, Tenement Rats, Free Weed, Blank Tapes, The Premonitions, The Resonars, Soda Boys, King Khan (just to name a few).

My favorite song is “24 Hours” by my favorite band Reckling. WARNING: “24 Hours” is more infectious than the Covid-19 virus (it’s been playing in my head non-stop since it was released).

Click and listen, then purchase on Bandcamp. Let’s do our part to help support our favorite bands during this difficult time (and get some new music into our earholes)!
