Deb Frazin Photo Column—Fuzz

This photo of Fuzz was shot at The Regent in Downtown Los Angeles. They opened for Mudhoney, and I remember it being eardrum-shattering loud (the only way to listen to psych/stoner rock)! I’d always been a big fan of Ty and Charles (since The Epsilons), and this was my first time seeing Fuzz. They went way beyond my expectations that night.

The friend I went with decided to go home fifteen minutes after we got there because she was tired (WTF?), and another friend I bumped into promised to give me a ride back to my car (parked two miles away) then ended up ditching me. But I don’t let that kind of shit ruin my good times. The show was everything I’d hoped it’d be. Mudhoney killed it that night, too. It’d been years since I’d seen them, and (as usual), they fucking blew the roof off the place. I remember my ears ringing off the hook with sludgy evocation as I happily walked through the 2nd Street Tunnel, back to my car.

Fuzz recently released their third album on In the Red Records. You can grab yourself a copy right here.
