Last January, I was lucky enough to catch Chuck Dukowski play a reunion show with his old SST band Würm. This was their first show in thirty-five years, and I was super stoked to catch this gig. They played a matinee show in Chinatown at Martin Wong’s Save Music In Chinatown benefit event. (If you haven’t been to one of these incredibly fun benefit shows, you’ve been missing out on seeing punk bands like The Adolescents, Alice Bag, and Mike Watt play sets in an intimate room at The Grand Star Jazz Club.)

Würm played a scorching-hot set (of course). I’m an avid Black Flag/Dukowski fan, and it was cool to be able to shoot him up close without the usual slam pit action (for a change). Also on the bill were three other favorite bands of mine: Slaughterhouse, Fur Dixon, and Otniel Y Los Condors. It was four solid hours of pure punk rock goodness. Save Music In Chinatown shows are always a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon! Here’s a clip of the show filmed by my pal Ron Borella. Enjoy!
