Cemento is a band featuring Manny from Smut, and their remarkable new EP has had its claws dug deep into my brain since August.
I was sold after the first listen. Deep, catchy songs. Cemento doesn’t sound like Smut—this is a much different project. It has a slight ’80s sound to it at times. It kind of reminds me of Fields Of Nephilim crossed with Numb.er (without the heavy synths). It has a wonderfully dark, slightly shoegazey sound. And they put on a damn good live show, too.
Here are four solid songs for you to sink your teeth into. The download is free, but you might want to throw a few bucks their way, because after listening to it, I think you'll agree they absolutely deserve it.
