When I hear bands like (Damn) This Desert Air I wonder what the line is between bands saying they’re indie rock and the shitty “rock” bands one hears on the radio. (Foo Fighters, I’m looking at you.) Yes, DTDA has some Quicksand and Hum influences. But I also hear some ’90s grunge and Caroline’s Spine (if anyone remembers them). Or perhaps if Coheed And Cambria got rid of all their metal influence and tried to write rock songs for the radio? Nebulosity is played capably and sounds solid but doesn’t inspire or hit me on any level beyond the fact that the songs are catchy. And lots of bands can do that, so I don’t see a reason to recommend this EP. –Kurt Morris (Engineer,
