There seems to be no shortage of ‘90s-sounding alternative bands these days. Guitars cranked all the way up to sound big and fuzzy, with a palm constantly on the tremolo bar. Cult Of Lip are dead set on big guitars, so big that the vocals and drums are buried. The vocals sound really sweet and saturated in reverb from what I can tell, but they sit too low under the guitars. If you still can’t get enough of My Bloody Valentine or newer bands like Whirr and Nothing, then check this band out. –Ryan Nichols (Minneapolis Ltd., [email protected])
