Each issue of Crying in Analog explores the author’s relationship to a particular analog medium—film photography (in the first and fourth issue), vinyl records, and cassette tapes. They largely return to the same theme of how important “touching buttons” and physically being with media is to her, a relationship commonly reported by analog-heads, but even as an analog-head myself I find myself wanting more substance or exploration of the concepts at hand... Other thoughts are interspersed, literally pasted-in, such as “strawberry ice cream gave me the energy I need/to keep making zines,” along with a lot of description of making the zines themselves. –jimmy cooper (Natasha Janfaza, [email protected])
