COORDINATED SUICIDES: This Could Be Heaven: LP

Sep 22, 2023

Thoroughly dismal noise punk from Madison, Wis. Heavy and discordant throughout with hints of melody draped over lyrical themes of despair, paranoia, and grief. Their bandcamp reveals this album was conceived and recorded during a span of four years and was delayed by several unforeseen circumstances including the COVID-19 pandemic, adding to their collective frustration. As a fan of unsettling music, this is as abysmal-sounding as it can get. I don’t want to get too morbid, but this album sounds like what drowning in slow motion must be like. The album was mixed and mastered by Steve Austin (from Today Is The Day, not the wrestler) and only he could help to fully capture the beauty of inner turmoil expressed through turbulent music. –Juan Espinosa (Temporal, temporalrecords.bandcamp.com / coordinatedsuicides.bancamp.com)
