COOL JËRKS: Self-titled: CS

Sonically, the Cool Jërks seem to have one foot in punk’s mid- to late-’80s—reinvention of itself out of the hardcore fog—and one foot in oi-flavored rave-ups. Sludgy (my favorite word for this cycle) bass, jangly guitars with lots of reverb and echo, and earnest, shouted vocals. They remind me, somehow, of Guadalcanal Diary meets Peter And The Test Tube Babies. I like it. –The Lord Kveldulfr. (No address listed)
