COMMUNITY: Self-titled: 7”

Coming from Sheffield, a city renowned for steel making, Community eschews the clean cut attack of a sword in favor of wielding a hefty mace to lay waste to all and sundry. The opening track, “Mushy Peas,” kicks off with a drum intro that reminds me of the start of the theme from Hawaii Five-0 before descending into a grubby punk rock mess. However, it’s a mess that really works and the sludgy racket is infectious as it is rowdy. –Rich Cocksedge (Kids Of The Lughole, [email protected])
