It’s not every day you walk past a flyer with a spiky gutter punk drawing announcing a band from Chile is playing down the street. I was unfamiliar with Ignorantes but couldn’t pass up on a chance to check out some international punk. I can’t begin to explain how happy I was watching this band. They play with a simple beat that is super catchy and absolutely relentless. The songs are short, to the point, and kept coming at a rapid pace—totally raw, bare-bones, DIY pogo punk. All songs are in Spanish, delivered with such a straightforward delivery it was totally addictive. I found it impossible to stop smiling and bouncing! I had so much fun watching this band and I absolutely loved that giant pink bass guitar! What a blast!
They’ve got three cassette releases, found on Bandcamp. Totally recommend checking them out.
