CC VOLTAGE: Berliner Pilsner: 7”

May 15, 2023

CC Voltage has been rocking it out in one form or another for many a year now. I first became aware of him with his tenure in Vancouver’s The Spitfires in the ’90s. High octane punk rock’n’roll was the order, and CC’s bass thundered with the best of them. I caught up with him a while later after a move to Germany where he was playing with off-kilter skate weirdos Dysnea Boys, and then most recently with his synthy new wave band Autogramm upon his return to Vancouver. The guy throws down some quality music, so it should come as no surprise that his “solo” outing is no different. The title track is a rocking ode to German beer, which definitely touches on his tenures in The Spitfires and Black Halos, while the flip “Bummer Party” definitely has an Autogramm feel to it. This one is a winner all around. –Ty Stranglehold (Snap,
