CASTLE BLACK: The Gods That Adored You: CDEP

Sep 26, 2018

These five songs are indie rock with some new wave influence, but there’s also a bit of aggression on the songs at times. I can hear Babes In Toyland, too, both musically and vocally. Castle Black isn’t afraid of a good hook, but I found their last two songs, which were slower, to be more heartfelt and interesting. I don’t often tell a band to slow down and mellow out, but I think I’d like this band even more if that’s the direction they went. As it stands now, the EP is a mixed bag. –Kurt Morris (
