Castet have been playing 1980s-sounding New York hardcore since 2003, but what makes it so exciting is that they’re from Poland. This type of hardcore gets a lot of flak, but its global appeal shows that it has a universality to it that cannot be disputed. Pasażer is a label that always puts together fancy packaging, with this LP being no exception. It comes in an embossed cover that folds out and has a printed inner sleeve as well. Fans sick of domestic “tough guy” hardcore should consider checking this awesome record out to reenergize their love for what remains one of punk’s most genuine subcategories. –Art Ettinger (Pasażer)
