Boy oh boy, did I sleep on this. Originally released in 1991, this was the second full-length under their original name. Between this and their debut, American Paranoia, they fiddled with their name and collaborated with other Bay Area hardcore bands over a few records. They also fiddled with their sound quite a bit, leaning away from the hardcore half and heavily into the metal half of their sound… which is why I personally quit paying attention. This was a return to form—blistering metal-tinged hardcore that make for longer song lengths with zippier tempos. Good stuff throughout, and this pressing of it has been restored and remastered. Fully expected this to confirm my aversion but instead it made me feel like a dope for missing out the first go-round. –Jimmy Alvarado (Beer City)
