I have a hard time forming a solid opinion about this album because its influences are so distinct. Imagine if Brendan Kelly from the Lawrence Arms started a country-laced bar band that occasionally turned on the distortion. That is exactly what this sounds like. There are some good moments on the album, especially toward the end, but the familiar territory outnumbers the fresh stuff. The recordings are clean and it sounds good, but it mostly feels like a road already worn.
