No Front Teeth has been doing a great job of releasing lo-fi street punk bands that do justice to bands like the Business or Sham 69, and this album showcases a few of these bands, like Blacklist Brigade, the Briggs and Vinny Jack and the Jabbs. But this comp goes beyond just the street punk, paying tribute to OC punk rock with cool (though previously released) songs by the Smut Peddlers and the Hunns. There are two tunes by an earlier Duane Peters band, the Exploding Fuck Dolls (see Todd’s interview with Duane Peters to learn about the real exploding fuck doll). Texas punk anomalies Malavista rock through songs that will hopefully inspire you to pick up their new EP. The Briefs show up halfway through the CD and keep things fresh. And, really, there are too many good songs here to mention all the bands. It’s a solid comp from beginning to end. The icing on top of it, though, are two live JFA songs.
