Designated Dale
1. The Replacements at the Hollywood Palladium. For two of the four original members remaining in that band, it was surprisingly rad.
2. Joan Jett & The Blackhearts getting a spot in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. I have mixed feelings about that Hall, but it’s extremely gratifying to see one of the few real deals like Jett get highly recognized in an industry that wanted nothing to do with her in the beginning. Cheers, Joanie!
3. Motörhead officially turning forty as a band this past June, and if I have to elaborate, I must first ask for you to crawl up out of that fucking rock you’re living under.
4. The Sonics, This Is the Sonics LP. Proving without an inkling of a doubt that the city of Tacoma has remained the epicenter of Washington state’s punk rock greatness for the past fifty-five (!) years.
