Top Five Things That Made/Make Him Exclaim “Fuck!” So Far in 2013
1. Off With Their Heads, Home album. This rekkid best be spinning ‘round like fuck on everyone’s turntable/CD player by the time this goes to print. If it isn’t, get your fingers/thumbs out of your orifice and remedy that shit immediately. Home is easily one of the raddest full-lengths of 2013.
2. Neighborhood Brats, Pu$$y Cow, and Horror Squad rocking the fuck out at the seventh Annual Dre Day 02/09/2013 at El Cid in Los Angeles. Joe Dana and Co. strike gold again assembling a gnarly lineup to celebrate Compton’s own Andre Romelle Young, punk rock style.
3. La Reyna Mexican Restaurant on the corner of 7th Street and Mateo downtown Los Angeles. They set up shop out on the front sidewalk with the grill usually after 5:00 to start doling out the meaty goodness that is al pastor, carne asada, pollo asada, and chorizo in taco, quesadilla, and burrito form. If you think your local taco hang is tight, then La Reyna is a goddamn motherfucking snare drum.
4. Realizing that the often-underrated Ramones’ Subterranean Jungle LP was released thirty years ago this last February, and that the bonus tracks from those sessions included on the Rhino Records re-release are so good, you’ll wanna slap yourself, then go and slap yo’ momma.
5. Bon Scott-era AC/DC.
“You’ve already mentioned this a few times before, Dale.”
“Yeah, so?”
“So, why do you keep on going on about this?”
“Because FUCK YOU, that’s why.”
